Karma suggestion

I don't know if this would cause a flood of harassment, but are there any SMF settings or mods that allow people to see who is giving them +/- ratings? So if there, was, say, one person who just kept laming the same 2 or 3 people every 24 hours, we'd know who was doing it? Or, even if YOU (re: Arbie) knew who was doing it? Because, well, that's pretty fucking lame to do that to someone for something like a personal grudge or to be a dick.

Just thoughts.

They look like shit with the PLA Theme.  Kind of hard to read.  But Karma is now logging.  I'll try and fix it to work with the PLA theme later this week.  If you switch over to the SMF default theme, it's more readable.  Let me know if you experience any problems with it.

It looks like that's Raptor's personal Karma stats.  I just clicked on Raptor's name at random while trying it out.  You can replace the "48" in the URL with your own user number.  If you're in the default theme, there's a link in everyone's profile with the Karma info.

On the other hand, maybe I should just get rid of Karma.  Seems like logging it all is just going to make users pissed at each other for lowering their Karma.  Karma is just too flawed.  One person can easily bring down your Karma by lowering it each day. 

Or maybe I should limit it to one Karma vote every week so they could only lower a person's Karma by 52 points a year.  That'd be pretty hard to abuse.

Look, there's karma rankings on the bottom, too.  I'm somehow number 4 in positive karma despite being almost as equally hated!  And somehow CountyKid has more negative karma than murd0c...

I tried to click one of the buttons, and was told to fill out the form.  Since I always do what I'm told, I filled in the form and clicked the button again.  Nothing exploded.

If I'm not mistaken, the top section is a listing of all the Karma actions YOU performed on others, while the bottom is a listing of the highest and lowest karma ranked members of the board.

Yeah, it wants a reason.  I just now disabled the Karma system though.  No more Karma.  It just seems pointless since it can be abused so easily.  Does anyone think that's a bad idea, disabling Karma?  Maybe I can put it back up once I get the Karma log working properly with the PLA Theme.

Not having Karma sure shortens the lengths of each post in a thread.

I never really saw much of a point to it in the first place, but it was fun to say "Haha no one likes Illuminati." If you plan to put it back up, we should hold a Council of Losers to determine the perfect karma system.
