Ancient Loops
« on: October 23, 2006, 04:50:46 PM »
Hey, was wondering if anyone had the numbers for some loops (if these things still exist). I tried a few that were catalouged back in the day, but you know how it is trying to do anything that worked back in the eighties.

You can only call the loop lines with a blue box

Wonderful. Meaning you can't call them at all, because of no access to the signalling band?

haha, yeah you press "KP"  then the "LOOP" button then "ST."   :D
loops can be accessed from any landline.  ani II for cellular is blocked by most providers, i.e. you might get a error message from Sprint, Nextel, .. whatever.  But most loops are now gone, or used up.

Is it just me, or is this really wrong?

Yeah, it should read "Silver Box."  Loop lines are always in pairs of NPA-XXX-99AB and NPA-XXX-99CD.

I'm not really sure, so can someone tell me exactly what a loop is.  Thanks.
