Ya, Arbie, what ever happened to that?

I can't think of how many times I've wanted to search for stuff on the site and googlebot doesn't do a good job at it.

It would take forever to do all that stuff before you post! Barely anybody would do it.

I don't think it would help much.

I personally think that Flash is awesome. If there were a way to prevent anyone from posting without first seeing that or the rules (if they were put on a splash page when one first registers for the forums...?) there may be people who would read them and heed them. Hopefully, at least.

I don't think it's a good idea to have a search box, because I have the feeling that some people wouldn't look at the date of the last reply.  And we would end up with a ton of old threads renewed.

It's a lot better to update ancient threads with good, new material than to keep repeating over and over what has been said before.

The problem is that we don't usually get good, new material.  We get me too! posts.

I'm not saying it's a bad thing to bring back an old thread, infact I encourage it if you have something interesting to say on the topic.  The only problem is there often isn't something interesting said, and I end up wasting my time reading a whole thread because someone thought it would be cool to say, me too, LOLZ.

Yeah, on threads that I know are old I instantly go to the last message to make sure it's not a "Me Too" post. Unfortunatly 95% of the time it is one. Heh, this can be constrrued as a "me too" post as well. Oh, well.

Me too.

At least this isn't an old thread.

No, it isn't.

I think it would almost be more feasible to have a probationary period for new members, where they would have only a certain amount of posts until they couldn't post any more unless granted full forum status by the mods or something. If someone knows they only have 10 posts and they'd better make them count, there's a higher chance that they would.

The problem for me isn't stemming from new people but from existing members. Most of them don't contribute much if at all.

Guys:

I was reading this and I just managed myself two questions:

1-   Why my previous post was the only one deleted on this thread, seriously it wasn’t’ that bad.
2-   Why most of the threads here finish with a topic that it has nothing to do with the post’s subject?

PS: the flash was awesome
