Changes to the PLA Forums

The reason I switched the theme is because making the color scheme work properly was hopeless.  Every time I fixed one part of it, another got messed up.  So I found this theme and I'm not touching the colors on it.  Try not to hate it too much.  And let me know if you spot any problems with it.  I noticed it was a little slow on IE, compared to Firefox.  I'll try to figure out why later.  The old themes are still available if you want to switch back to any of them, but I won't be updating those anymore.

I'm having brand new issues now with trying to implement forum stuff onto the main phonelosers.org page.  Once I get past those, we should have recent posts and all that good stuff back on the main page.

I also put up that message for newbs again that encourages them to read the rules and post an introduction.  Hopefully that will do some good.

i really like the new theme...it's easy to read.

as for why it's slower in internet exploder than in firefox, it's because IE sucks and they should be switching to firefox anyway.

I hate this and I will hold a grudge against Brad Carter forever for changing the theme.  Forever.

I've convinced my boss to adopt a version of the blue-and-white theme for our company website. That way, every time I log in and cry about how he makes random changes to offset my progress, at least I can feel happy about how it looks like classic Cal's.

I think the new color scheme is ironic.

It makes it look more like an "underground site" yet we still throw meaningless crap at each other that looks like it should be on 4-chan.

I finally got the recent posts on phonelosers.org working!  I dedicated a whole new sidebar to forum stuff.  Now I'm having issues putting the Shoutbox in that sidebar and I don't know why.  Nothing ever works right.

You should make that sidebar closeable/collapsible so it doesn't bother people who don't use the forums.

Sometime this week (maybe tonight) I'm going to reinstall the forums from scratch.  They've been running for a few years now, getting patched and upgraded and modified.  They keep crashing now and plugins aren't working and everything seems like a mess.  So I'm going to delete all the existing files and just start over to see how that goes.

Keep in mind, all the old posts and messages will still be here.  None of that will ever be lost.  And I'll do my best to keep all your avatars and attachments intact.  If all goes well, you won't notice any changes here.  Hopefully a fresh install will fix things around here though.
