Changes to the PLA Forums

Got all the plugins working again, such as YouTube embedding, extra profile fields and the shoutbox.  And I merged a bunch of forums like I mentioned before.

Also, not sure if anyone noticed, but we're no longer at phonelosers.com/forums/.  The forums are now just www.phonelosers.org and phonelosers.org is back at phonelosers.org.  I never meant to keep it on .com for so long.  I'm moving stuff around on servers again which should hopefully make things stop crashing.  But I always say that and things still crash so just ignore me.

Yeah that's what I meant.

The forums might be down some this evening.  I'm moving stuff between servers once again.  Shouldn't be for more than a few hours.

I don't know if anyone has suggested this (I did the search thing) but

I think it would be great to get an e-mail notifying us if one of our posts/treads is deleted, and a very short explanation of why. Sometimes I notice my post count go down, but I can't remember what I posted. Other times I don't know what it was about my post that provoked its deletion.

This would help a lot of people, but mainly newbs.

It would be amusing to have a section in your profile called Deleted Posts that showed how many of your posts were deleted.  IN4CER would be the winner.  Unfortunately I don't see anything on the SMF site that would do that.

I recently did set up a system that will show me all of the posts that are deleted so I can restore them.  So when mods delete posts just because they don't like them I can restore them.

Let's you browse prank call mp3 files and images that have been posted on the forums.  Kind of cool to browse through and listen to sound files.  It features a pop up window player.

I'm trying to find a mod that lets you listen to mp3 file attachments without having to download them and play them on your own computer.  Same for images.  But so far no luck in finding that.

Does anyone hate that Cacti Radio flash player up in the top bar thing?  Is it making the page load much slower for you?  If so, speak up.

I just set up a domain transfer for phonelosers.com so I can stop paying for it since I get a few free domains with my hosting package that I haven't been taking advantage of.  So this domain may stop functioning in a couple of days while things get settled.  I hope you can all get by without the 2 posts per day that happen around here.

Stupid Godaddy, disabling my domain before the transfer went through.  The forums were down for at least a few hours today, displaying the Godaddy placeholder page.  I ended up having to pay Godaddy this morning so that the forums would work for a few more days until the transfer happens. 

The forums are still expected to go down sometime this week when the transfer takes place.  Once I notice that they're down, then I'll change the DNS stuff and it'll come back up in a few hours or a day or whatever.
