But yeah, I think Linux has potential, but it's pretty much unsuited for my purposes right now. In the future, if they can get distros with better hardware support, I'd probably start using it more, but right now it doensn't do it for me.

Uhm, Linux has the best hardware support of any OS out there out of the box. I'm not sure how they can "improve" that. The only thing left to do is  to have the hardware manufacturers start writing more drivers for linux.

Think about what you just said. If you can't find the drivers, either through the manufacturer or through third party sources, for hardware, then it's not supported, is it?

omg i just got over food poisoning! :S shit that was the worst thing that has EVER happened to me in my life... I truely thought i was dead yesterday

anyways i can rule a linux machine as if it were an extension of my body, but with windows i just fail to.  I hate seeing things like "an exception has occured" and all the freezes.  my kernel rules, it wouldn;t use a windows based machine to wipe it's ass.  im sorry, i just feel that it will catch on, and with more support for harware, and more freedom, it will take windows place in a many OS based objects not only computers.

By the way, I-Ball, I am using an Audigy 2 ZS PCMCIA card. I dug my laptop back out after I got a new charger and haven't bothered to post in a while. Sorry bout that.

I did finally get it working on SuSE, after a lot of help from a comp sci major in one of my classes, but I'm still having problems with my input devices (mic/line in) which sorta blows, but my classmate procured a driver for me. My WI-FI card still isn't recognized, but I recognize that it's shitty. I just don't have the disposable income to waste on new hardware when I have other shit to buy.
