But for those of you who have played d&d, what were your campaigns like?
Here's a story of a campaign I was going to make, but did not because of my laziness. It involves the killing of gods, similar to those of Morrowind (great, great game). I just love the idea (I have nothing against gods or anything).
In a very basic sense, there is a wolrd that is governed and kept balanced by three gods. I think there names were Lexos, Mauro, and Acosta (if you are into trance music, you will recognize those names). Each god had a general alingment: Neautral (Mauro), good (Acosta), and evil (Lexos). Somehow, Acosta had been murdered, and actually fell from the sky, his fall similar to that of a meteor, upon his death. A heavily fortified structure of some sort was made around the body of Acosta in hope of possibly reviving the God. This structure becomes a frequently visited location in the Campaign.
Anyways, with Acosta dead, the world is changed. Visually, beautiful things are scarecly found in nature, but the beautiful things created by those with intelligence are not altered, and intelligent creatures can still create beautiful things. Also, creatures of evil begin to appear during the night, with more and stronger creatues appearing as the campaign advances. The alingments of the intelligent creatures of the world, however, are not altered.
The characters could attempt to restore balance either by concentrating on reviving Acosta (which would involve something like obtaining a magical/psionic object, or by somehow creating a gate of some sort between the plane of the gods and earth, which would be heavily guarded by the most powerful creatures of the campaing next to the gods themselves, or possibly the players) or by killing Lexos, which would involve either going to the plane of the gods or the gods coming to earth.
Also, what kind of character do you like to play as?
