Here's a good one I got this week.

Hello,

I have a problem and I came across your site which did answer a question I had but I still have another question which I hope you can help me with.  My boyfriend and I have been having relationship issues and he tells me all the time that he will leave back to El Salvador if we continue to have problems.  Last night we had a huge argument.  He called me around 12pm from 702-444-4939 today.  We live in Maryland and when I did a look up with that number it says that number is a Las Vegas, NV Land Line Number.  I did a google search with that number and came across other people concerned because they get calls from that number as well and those ppl live all around the US.  I came across one comment from someone and this is what I read

"When you received a call from 702-444-4939 probably it came from any of the the Mexican Border Cities (Juarez, Tijuana, Mexicali, Laredo) these cities have an INTERNATIONAL PUBLIC PHONES that belongs to an american company located in Las Vegas, NV, those telephone are dedicated exclusively to make INTERNATIONAL LONG DISTANCE CALLS and if u use it, your call will be connected as follow: Juarez(Mexico)-Las Vegas-Your city.  I know about this because my brother works for this company installing this telephones in Juarez."

I am afraid that my boyfriend has left me.  He stated he was in Baltimore, Maryland working.  I told him why the number says Nevada and he said, "don't worry, ill be home tonight".  I am afraid he is lying and that he is not going to come home.

Is there any comment or advice you can give me?  Do you think it is true what the person above said about that number coming from any of the Mexican border cities?  I don't know how to find out where the call originated from.  Please help!

Thank you in advance for your time

Jenifer

What the fuck is wrong with people, being in such retarded relationships?  Am I weird for never having experienced one that lame?  I was torn between hitting on her since she was available, or giving her one of my sponsored links to a phone search and telling her that's the only way she'll know for sure.  But in the end, I tried to be like Abby.

Hey Jenifer.  I looked at that number on Google too, and I guess I know about as much as you do about it.  But considering that your boyfriend has threatened to move to El Salvador and then some other random person on the internet says that's where the number is located, I'd say there's a pretty good chance that your boyfriend has left the country.

I hope you realize this already, but being in a relationship where the guy is constantly threatening to leave the coutnry isn't normal.  Why not just let him go?  Surely you can find a guy that you don't have to fight with every day.  Believe me, there's a few nice guys out there.  You just have to keep looking.

For the past two years the conversations that I have with specific people have an unusual characteristic... periodic beeping (very low).  This happens as well to those people who call my cell from their landlines.  I follow politics and the agendas of various politicians/branches very closely.  I simply wonder if this is part of total information awareness.  I would think that the technology would have reached the point of no detection by the typical individual.  Thank you for your time. -J

That beep you hear?  That's your call waiting.  Hit the flash button and you'll be connected to the other party.  Quick thinking that you're such an important person that the government would bother to listen to your calls.  And that the government is so inept that they don't know how to tap a phone without you hearing a beeping sound.  Your life is not a spy movie.  In fact, I bet you're actually a pretty boring person.

Have fun following your politics,
Brad

Pffsh, Dear Abby has nothing on Dear Arby.

To answer your question about the retarded relationships, I think that it's hard to see how retarded it is from the inside. From the outside it's obvious to everyone that the relationship is flawed beyond repair. It's harder to see that when you're close to it though. Love is like beer goggles, only you go completely blind. I'm gonna be a n00b and say "me2" to your response. That's probably the best advice she could get.

Fnord is the typographic representation of disinformation or irrelevant information intending to misdirect, with the implication of a conspiracy.

She replied back to me today:

I asked a simple, respectful question.  Although it is unfortunate that you assume what my personality is, your assumption being incorrect, you have made it quite clear that you are rude.  You speak of being a bore.  Yet, you devote an entire website to recording telephone calls and spying on people.
My, my... what an exciting life.  Thank you for your time and have a good evening.

Dear rbcp

I follow politics and the agendas of various politicians/branches very closely and recently i noticed that my left testicle hangs lower than the right one.
Should i be concerned that this could be due to total information awareness or just some excess scrotum droop?

Thank you for your time.

You're getting defensive because you know how right I am.

Firstly, Brad, I don't have call waiting.  So, your initial reply, besides, being rude, was not helpful.  Secondly, I did not rule out the possibility that the technology was more advanced, which I cited in my initial communication with you. Thirdly, this investigation is simply the process of elimination.

I have to now agree with my husband.  Communicating with people like you is a useless endeavor.  So, this is my last response.  You behave like an ass and I made one out of myself for sending an e-mail to you to begin with.  I hope we both learn from this mistake.  I wish you well.

She should try having a normal conversation on these forums. Now THAT is useless endeavor.

OH NOES! A MEXICAN!

I hate bumping threads when I'm not being ironic but I find myself saying this all the time now.

That chick is part of the reason I can't stand most conspiracy theorists. They all have this smug asshole paranoid streak, like the secret police is going to bust down their down with jackboots and kill them for "discovering the truth!!!".

She was probably talking to someone about Loose Change or some stupid shit like that.

That's like wiccans who think they can cast spells in their basements, people who think that they're really psychic, people who think they've talked to aliens, etc. The common denominator is that they're losers who invent circumstances in which they're special to avoid feeling inferior. They really do believe this crap.

I've known a few of those people. A fun thing to do if you hang around the magically-inclined ones is to sell them your soul for ten bucks. Once I had the immense pleasure of seeing three of them argue over which useless scrap of paper was my "real" soul since I'd sold one to each of them seperately. It was hours of fun, and profitable too!
