Whats so great about linux?

I was reading my Dell Catalog I got in the mail today, and was surprised when I saw that Dell Inspiron Mini 9 came with Ubuntu as the default operating system.

huh?? ?      i wan green tea.

Yeah. Ubuntu and Dell have been teamed up for almost a year now. That may be one of the first Dell computers in the US (or off the Dell catalog) that I know of that come with Ubuntu on them, but of our computer distributors carry them, too.

our DELL rep came 2 days or so before the DELL mini 9" came out, that had a cool mobile version of Ubuntu on it, with a full version of Gnome that was pretty sweet.  We crashed it though. heh. Alt+Ctrl+Backspace got out of the crashed X windows, but then he said he didnt know the passwd to log back in, heh.

I bought my new Dell last year with Ubuntu pre-installed.  Then I added Windows on a 2nd partition.  Then I realized that using linux was still as pointless as I was when I tried in around 1999ish and I took it off.
