No.
CB's operate on 27MHz and on AM. Fast food systems are either NFM or WFM and are somewehere between 30 and 950MHz depending on the system. Your best bet for the older systems (headsets with a belt pack) are ham radios or programmable business band radios. These can be found for cheap if you know what to look for. The newer WFM systems identifiable by the headset with the buttons on the headphones themselves are harder to get into. A modified 800MHz Motorola Maxtrac could do the job. Perhaps a 900MHz cordless phone could be modified as well.
Ok thanks, some more questions though. (Sorry for being such a "noob".) I notice on some of the radios, it will say something like "136~174 MHz", does that mean the radio is only good for picking up signals that are 136-174 MHz? And would be no good if the fast food place is not on any of those channels?
Also, is there anyway to figure out what freq. the place runs on? I guess you could S.E. this info by pretending to be with whatever company supplys the radio headsets they use or whatever, but just curious if theres an easier way to figure out.
Also, when you say "modified", do you mean tearing it apart and installing different components inside of the radio?
Heres some junky looking China radios that would probably shatter if looked at too hard (but can't beat the price when you're as broke as I am), think any of these would be suitable for the drive thru chaos?
store 1 store 2 (such a clever name they have)Sorry again for all the questions, but thanks for the responses (the worthwhile ones and the sarcastic ones alike).
