I have tried skype on dial up and it is not worth your time downloading... Your voice cuts out all the time and theirs is even worse... Just use a long distance card. Bell in canada charges 25c for a local call  for as long as you want... I would go up to the store in my campground connect my laptop the the data jack on the side of the pay phone and then use 25c to use the internet for like 2 or 3 hours... It was great! Just make sure it is local...
