Hey I've never used Skype before, and I wanted to know if it's worth it (or possible) to use it with a 44Kbps connection. Would beat beige boxing in the rain  ;D

I've used it on worse connections, you will be able to hear ppl fine, but your upload will prolly cut out....

Where did you hear that it's ending?  No more free prank calls.  That sucks!

yeah, skype announced that the free calls would go from somewhere in early 2006 to 2007 :(
maby it will contine- or be a very discounted rate, ar they will jack up the price to 6000 dollars a minute now that everyone is addicted. Guess we will have to get out the old redboxes to continue getting free calls.

Yea but the only problem with a cell phone is you have to pay for it.  Skype is (soon to not be,) totally free.  And with a cell phone it charges extra to hide your number, so it can get a little pricey if you don't have a ton of cash... like me.

Instead of hiding your infoz, just get a prepaid plan and give them fake information.  Want your name to be Bob Oppenheimer?  Put it down.  Cara Laughs?  Go for it.  Give em a fake SS#, too.  I know for a fact cingular doesn't check that for a prepaid account.

Huh, I never knew that.  Ill have to do that next time I get a new cell phone.  Thanks for the info.

I would, but my parents only pay for a birthday gift and a Chrismas gift, besides that i pay for pretty much all my stuff on my own.  I defintly would looove to have my parents pay for it, belive me.
