On the next one you should put crime scene tape around it, put some dusting powder as if you're checking for finger prints. Maybe some realistic looking blood and bio-hazard bags (the kind the police use when they collect body parts).
However this might be in the gray area because the police will probably spend some time and resources wondering what's going on. Use at your own discretion.
There's always the old trick of putting some cinder blocks or similar under the axle to the have tires off the ground about a one-quarter of an inch.
