That's what's meant by the term wardriving, isn't it?
It could become illegal someday soon, I can't imagine the federales like the idea.

Hey Raptor, speaking of the FON router, have you had any problems with the connection freezing?

I'll be connected to the "private SSID" and after being connected for ~15-30 min. all traffic will stop. I'll still be connected to the router and I'll still have an IP, just that I have to release/renew to reset the connection before I can send/receive data again.

I've haven't had any problems with it so far, one thing to note is that If you connect to the public SSID, the private will disappear on that computer until you restart the router.

I got an promotional email from FON, saying I could mail 3 routers to 3 people of my choice for free, so as greedy as I am, I sent one to myself, and sold it for $25 the next day. The nice thing is I have access to the configuration online, so I can change their SSID remotely. I might want to wait off on that though, because they know my address!   ;)

I just hijacked my neighbors wireless router. I connected to their network, logged in with admin:admin and enabled remote access so i can connect from my own connection as i have a bas signal to theirs (they live in a new subdivision next door and i am on the other side of city limits). I changed their password to admin1 because it made me, and i scanned for printers. They have none, and all their computers are named weird like planets. I have the option of kicking them off their own network, forwarding different ports, maybe turning one of their machines into a web server. The router is on port 8080 as to be inconspicuous and such. I dont think i want to rename their network just yet, as i am already nervous that i changed the password. They have port forwarding turned on for BitTorrent, those freaking Pirates.

Okay, i just reverted their password. sshhhhh!
