Today I officially declared war on Cox Communications. I came home on Thursday of last week to discover a little yellow slip hanging from my door knob. It read, "Cat TV leakage has been detected from your residence and needs to be corrected. Call within ten days to avoid service interruption." I call the number shown and was connected to a very argumentative representative who acted like the world was going to end because of this so called leakage. She tells me the lines inside of my apartment need to be inspected and sets up an appointment (two hour time slots) for early Friday morning.
Guess what? I worked a 10 1/2 shift so I could get Friday off for this appointment and the technician never showed. I was pissed. I call back, a manager reschedules the appointment for Monday and gives me a $20.00 credit. This morning, I waited around my apartment for two hours when a Cox Communications truck drives by, going at least 10 MPH and then drives on. No one ever shows.
I call back, speak with a manager who forces me to re-schedule my appointment and was hesitant about applying any more credits. Finally I yelled at him enough to get another $20.00 credit, but I am still not happy. SIX hours of my time is valuable stuff. I get paid more than $40.00 for six hours of my time at work... I am going to talk to someone in a bigger position tomorrow and see if I can't get more than a $20.00 credit. Do you blame me?
Evidently, according to someone I spoke with at one of the 800 numbers, they are making my case high priority because this leakage has blocked some type of emergency signal the fire department a block away emits. If this is true, which I doubt it is, why don't they show at their appointments?!
