Yea it definitely does still work, funny thing is that American tones from my ipod work fine up here in Canada
All you have to do is find one of the old metal box pay phones which don't mute the microphone. And when the phone says "Welcome to Telus's coin operated telephone system, please deposit $2.15" you just play the tones as fast as you want and it works :)
The best way to red box is through an i pod nano
just put five dollars worth of tones in an on the go play list
turn the volume and play the tones and it works perfectly
and if you have to go through an operator record some blank space and put it between the tones
but otherwise the operator should not be able to distinguish the tones.

On the phones where the handset is muted I believe you can just drop a nickel in there to unmute it. Or you can call 411 and when it asks for money after you listen all the way through box it in.
I HATE the bridge.

What about dropping a nickel in? I mean it "kind of" defeats the purpouse of boxing in that you have to pay a nickel for the call. However, that's still fourty five cents saved on local calls.
