I miss the old days of #rock and the like, what do yo guys think about starting an irc # for pla to chill in? Just a thought, rb feel free to come and burst this bubble like always.

yup way back in the mid 90s - now in rock they actually talk about music, irc just isn't the same these days but if we can get pla back on irc it should be fun-

Supposedly it's #pla on EFnet, but that probably dates back to the 1990's.

Yeah I know. I was just reminiscing of the warm spring days in the 20th century where people would stay on their computers for hours on end and open up their windows to say they were outside. That was around AOL 4.0 coming out on CD, waaay back before I even had a CD-ROM.

Ah yes the days when I would order 1000 aol disks to my "Buisness" and would then format them and have an endless supply of storage. The days of Calling OCI and talking to my favorite operators, I remember I called them one Christmas and told them I would stop the harassment of them for just 1 day to observe Christs birth, then when the op replied "Yo mama!" I renigged on my truce and gave it to them extra hard with a hint of Christmas spirit. I loved those wily operators!

i tried out some Firefox IRC client a month or two ago and noticed that there was a #phonelosers with people in it.  I don't remember if it was efnet or dalnet, though.  I think this forum software has some kind of IRC client mod that I can add to it.  Maybe I'll look into that tonight.

What stuff? Myself, Murd0c and tk were in #cactus earlier today it kinda brought back memories #cactus is on EFnet and I try to use a BNC to keep it open so stop by until redbox can check in to the irc client for this server.

I just set it up.  Haven't messed with any options or anything yet so it looks kind of shitty with some logo going through the chat page.  Tell me what you think, though.  Hopefully there's an option on it to automatically send everyone into a specified server and room.  Here it is:

I just changed it so it automatically joins #pla.  I can also change the server that it defaults to.  Right now it defaults to irc.villageirc.net.  Anyone have any suggestions on what I should change that to?  Seems like a large network would be best so that everyone can also access their regular IRC channels through this page.  Efnet?  Dalnet?  Leave it at villageirc?
