Sorry to get off topic, but here in Oregon we still have tons of pay phones. Tons and tons. The mall recently took all of their phones out. But there's still a pay phone at every convenience store. There's one or two at the train station. Two at school, though I've never seen anyone (other than myself) use them. One that I know of at the hospital. One of the post office. There's definitely not as many here as when I lived here 10 years ago. Oregon also has an unusually high number of phone booths. I'd say at least 20 phone booths in this town.
Anyone ever see the movie Freejack? Emilio Estevez ends up in the distant future of 2009 and they have some really cool pay phones there. And people use them too! Because, you know, nobody in 2009 owns a cell phone.
