Okay so we were sitting on the bridge last night pwnin the Home Depot phone network. When you get transered to extension 450 for the internal store-to-store locator, it's like the inward of the home depot network. we've also obtained the pa, which works universally! after we get done documenting this momentous time we'll post how to get on the pa.

ok.  I bow to your 1337nes.  I wanna take a stab at the P.A. thing.  If your inside of the network by way of 450, then you can somehow make a call to the extension you want, in this case the paging extension, and your in.  Am I close at least?

No your not, My own mediocre attempt at humor has been highly amusing to myself.. I guess we can release it.

You call home depot, and tell them your testing lines & want them to transfer you to extension 7. Once on 7 you will be asked for the Zone Code. Enter Zone Code 80, and it will tell you to leave a message, and give the recording bbbeeeeppp. say what you want to say over the PA in the message, then hang up. Five seconds after you disconnect it will come over the PA. If they try and say that there is no extension 7 tell them there is, it's an internal number. :)

damn it does work thanks johnny your my hero i love you so much now i will bow down and kiss your ring  *monkey*

The only thing to do now is get documentation if it in action, like VIDEO! We don't have home depot here, so you guys are going to have to go out and film it, and call from a cell phone or something. But get it on video and post it here :)

I'm planning on going there sometime today just because of this l o l (THE SUBJECT MATTER OF THIS POST IS CAUSING ME TO SIT HERE AND READ BECAUSE IT HAS INFORMATION.  SERIOUSLY, I'M REALLY READING THIS. IN MY HEAD.)

ill take my camera and get your "documentation" and supply you with a link

Edit.

I called and got menu and was told to enter a three digit extension. i just entered 7 and then it started to ring then some guy comes on from receiving and i ask him to transfer me to extention 7 - he has no clue and after about a min of telling him it was a internal number he decides to send me to someone else. unfortunately that person got a chance to talk to themselves because i had hung up. i call back and entered few other numbers but to no avail

so i was not able to get video of a successful attempt

but wat do suggest for this or is this a dead end

yeah. what store did you use, and how did you verify that you were able to make a page?  I think that it might be a local thing.  If I can figure out what the extension is, I'll get video docs for you.  But I dont think this is very reliable.

This is what happened when i tried it.  I asked the girl to transfer me to extension 7 which she did.  I heard ringing as if it was transferring me there but then she picked up again and said that it was asking her for a zone code, to which i responded 80.  Then she said is was asking her to record a message. So it sounds like it does work, but they were the ones hearing the prompts.  I'll try some other stores and if i find anything interesting i'll post it.

EDIT:
I called a second store and the same thing happened.  Only they heard the prompts, it was all on their side.
