Finding Elevator Phone Numbers
« on: February 18, 2008, 01:02:50 PM »
I'm trying to find a good way to find elevator phone numbers. So far, the best way I can think of is finding the number of a place that has elevators and changing the last two digits of the phone number until I find an elevator. I find a lot of fax machines and individual offices, but so far, no elevators. Does anyone know of a better way to do this?
Huh?

Well, I live in Ameritech territory, and alot of their elevator numbers are strangely grouped around their test numbers. Also, if you know the location of the elevator you want to try to get the number for, you could just call 911 from the elevator phone and say that you're placing a test call, and that you need the number read back to you.

Why not just call an ANI from the phone instead of 911?

I'd guess that a single call to an elevator phone has a good chance of going unanswered. You may well have called an elevator. Maybe try rescanning your previously unanswered numbers at 12:00 noon to catch the lunch crowd?
