Diverting to an outside line on a Norstar?
« on: July 12, 2006, 01:49:52 PM »
I called a local store today and told the girl I was calling from the business office and needed an outside line to run my tests. The girl tried to give me an outside line, but she couldn't do it. She put me on hold and came back and I asked her what phone system they used. She told me it said Nortel Networks on the phone, which probably means a Norstar system.

Is it even possible to divert to an outside line using a Norstar? Could I ask her to press Feature 70 and then press 9 and hang up?

She offered to let me speak to her supervisor about it, but I don't like talking to supervisors since they are usually more suspicious at these things.

It looks like you can only conference unfortunately, so the other person hears you. I got him to pick up another line and press feature 3 (conference) and I GOT AN OUTSIDE LINE!
