Question 4 any well learned phreaks about ani

Greetings. I'm not much of a phreak myself, but altalp says im leet so that makes me happy:)

Anyways I got a question about ANI. I understand ANI is not caller id and what not, and i've known of a few methods  that used to work, not sure if they still do, that would block ani (op diverting, something about using 10-10-288.... not sure My own mediocre attempt at humor has been highly amusing to myself.).

What I want to know is, is there any known method that one could use to spoof ani? not just block but spoof a phone number of your choosing. I'm not asking coz i want to do it for any specific purpose, I don't really have any use for it myself, im just curious if its possible.

Thanks to anyone who could share some insight.

ive looked into spoof card. as far as i can tell, it will spoof the caller id, but if u simply spoofcard into a toll-free number, specifically the flex-ani will still resolve to the line ur calling from as the point of origin.

I don't think it is possible to mess with ANI from a normal POTS line.  It may be possible if you can get use of a dedicated T1 line or something.  I've never really looked into it much.

It appears that reading up on ANI would be in your best interest. You can go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automatic_number_identification or simply google for it. My question is if you are trying to just hide your identity, appear as someone else, or have the line billed to an other account?
