PLA website changes

I've been playing around with the layout of phonelosers.org for the past week.  Tonight I changed the menus, once again, to javascript along the top of the page.  Could you guys take a look, click on a few things, and tell me if everything is working okay?  I tried it in Firefox, IE and on my cell phone.  It seems to work fine for me on all 3. 

My cell phone browser doesn't support Javascript so it just lays out all the submenus in text.  I'm pretty sure it should work in all browsers like that.  With the number of different pages and things on phonelosers.org, I don't really have any choice but to use a dropdown menu.

Be sure to tell me how much the changes suck and how the old design was better.

I think it looks pretty shnazy. Menus work fine for me on firefox 3 beta.

The attachments upload directory is not writable. Your attachment or avatar cannot be saved.

One minor issue: "view unread posts" is gone. You spoiled me arby...now i have to go through the forums like the rest of the sites i visit.

Yeah, I'll put that link back on there somewhere.  I really liked how the forums were integrated into the main page, but that slowed down the load time a lot.  I'm going to look into if there's a better way to do it, so it doesn't slow everything down so much.

Looking at the site on a Blackberry I've noticed that quoted text looks identical to normal text.

Everything looks good from Ubuntu with Firefox. I sure do miss the recent posts though, I hope it's back soon

i'm with Lestan and Ataxic...it's awesome, but i also miss the "recent posts" link.  that link always streamlined my addiction to the PLA forums.

I brought back the recent forum posts section.  I missed it too.  For some reason, it's not putting the word "new" next to the posts I haven't read.  I'm not sure why but I'll figure that out later.

wait, did you just make it look like it did a few years ago? with the drop down menus at the top? i liked the red and the slobway logo rip-off myself.  But then again, my site hasnt changed in years. heh.
