Phone Losers of America HOPE Panel Anniversary Spectacular in 3D!

Despite the title, this is a serious topic of not so serious but urgent stuff.

BTW as a cover for my ass, I am going off of what I currently know so far so bare with me.

A bunch of us Phone Losers at the NYC2600 meetings have decided that since PLA is nearing it's 15 year anniversary (and we are cheep bastards) that we are going to run another damn PLA panel for The Last Hope this year.

Now from what I understand, the roster currently includes: Murd0c, RTF, I-Ball, and Me.

Anyone else going that would like to speak, please shoot us a line.

Anyhow I am posting this not to only let all the "responsible" members know, but to ask one question:

What should we show off at this panel?

Currently we do not have much planed but we are shooting around ideas such as Murd0c getting recordings of crazy people calling in at his job and some of the recent (aka past five years) news stuff.

One thing that we all agreed on is to Rick Roll everybody. I am going to propose to take it one step further and have us create our own version of "Never Going To Let You Down", PLA edition.

So, any suggestions? Phone Mobs? Recordings? Topics?

Will RBCP go through with his Target Sleep Over so we have something to show?

Even if I did my sleepover by then, that'd be very un-phone related and boring to a crowd.

My suggestion is to have the best recordings ready to play.  At the last show, there was a lot of waiting around to hear sounds and play videos.  If you guys give me kind of an outline of what you plan to talk about, I wouldn't mind preparing clips.  Like, instead of playing ALL of a phone mob, I could make a clip of the funniest 3 calls from it.  So you guys could just quickly play the clips and then get on with talking about them

I could also shorten up videos if you need me too.  Like playing the entire April Fools drive-thru video would be boring.  But I could shorten it up and maybe cut it into 2 or 3 clips so you could tell the crowd what was going on with it instead.

Does RTF want to come in here and discuss this stuff?  We can bump his post count up to 100 to make him an honorary Regular.

Yea, coming up not only with awesome content but content in a timely matter is what we are working hard on. I guarantee that by the next 2600 meeting we will have a concrete idea on what we want to do and show.

I think that even if you did the Target thing we could mention it or put up a short 30 second clip of it. I think it would be good to remind people that once again, PLA is not just about phones but anything we pull out of our ass at the time.

Thing about RTF, I have no idea how frequent he can post here. While he has been on a lot recently, he shares my trait of dropping dead for eight billion years. So uh, if you want to and I can shoot him an E-Mail telling him this that would be fine.

Basically I want everyone to start thinking. Do we want to make Media CD's? Show off cool devices? Tips? Tricks? Anyone showing up that has something really good to say, after all I am up there and I am the lowest of the low at PLA!

Get it in now because after a bit we are going to have to set our train on the tracks.

i don't think phone mobbing would be enough for a whole presentation, but i'd love to have some of our best phone mob clips as part of the presentation.  in the context of a presentation we would probably only have time to play shorter clips, but we could talk about finding a good target for a mob, and about how longer-style mobs [like, a few PLAers talking for a long time on a show, like we did to Being Here...] can also be funny.

i like the idea of handing out media CDs, as well.  that would entail burning a bunch, but i could help with that.

Very good, exactly what I was thinking of.

Now if we can get a longer version with a lyric sheet. Get the original background sound too ala murd0c. I am willing to send sound samples too.

So far I think the way it is going to go down is near the bigging we are going to interrupt and play the music video while we sing along to our own version of the song briefly. Hmmm, maybe we can make it into a sing-along?

Anyhow what we need is content so the more content that is suggested the better. The best of the best, coolest of the old, newest of the new, all rarely heard.
