Quote from: UPL #30
Those of you reading along in HTML, be sure to take a glance at the .txt version of the issue, for nostalgia's sake. We gave the ASCII format a new look, and changed the 80-character max to a 125-character max, since no one in the whole fucking world still has their monitor set to 640x480. Those of you already reading the .txt version... what the shit are you doing?! It's 2008!

If you really wanted to be nostalgic you would have given it a black background with a green font color, for the early 80s monochrome green monitor effect.

I didn't dial the wrong number, you picked up the wrong phone.

I think Jason Scott has a copyright on that color scheme.

I was pretty sure that Jason Scott was the textfiles.com guy, but not 100%.

In finding out for sure I came across this nugget:

I prefer text files. They look a lot less cluttered IMO.

Fun fact: my article started out as a dry comparison between hackers of the 1960s, 1980s, and today.  Then I crapped it up with my life story, and it lost all direction and meaning.  The article, I mean, not my life... I think...
