Fun with Mormons
« on: October 10, 2008, 09:36:06 PM »
I was on digg (i think it was digg anyway) the other day and i saw an add (which got past my adblock filters surprisingly), for a FREE copy of the book of Mormon.. being the book collector that i am, i decided to send in my request for one

About a week later (today) as i'm about to go out for a smoke, i notice my girlfriend at the door with a very puzzled look on her face... not because the book had arrived, but because 2 real live Mormons came with it... They wanted to talk to us about something, I forget what, but we where actually on our way out (honestly) so we just picked up our copy and i took a business card from them and told them i'd call later.

This gave me a great idea... since its SO easy to order a copy of the book online (I dont even think you need to confirm by email), why not order a copy of this awesome book (with complimentary mormons) for some of our friends and neighbors? Its like getting flowers only better.

Or have some fun with them yourself, invite them in for dinner... maybe give them a copy of the satanic verses as a trade.... The possibilities are nearly endless.

I'm not sure if this would work just anywhere, but im interested to know what results anyone whos willing to try it has. I'm in Portland, so theres no shortage or Mormons here. I would guess if you live in any city with a Mormon temple, they will likely come to you.

It seems like a book of mormon isnt the only thing you can request

I sent dino allsman a free bible and requested that missionaries visit his house

you don't even have to order a book.  one of the first things i ever did to prank people i didn't like was send them mormons to come talk about religion.

When I lived in the south I had the exact same thing happen to me. I was all surprised but in my case they were two pretty attractive young ladies. So I invited them in and listened to them for like an hour. Then I propositioned them and they politely but promptly left.

I still let mormons in when they come by. I like asking about their worst experiences going door to door. Apparently they get puked on a lot.

A few years ago I was hanging out at my friend's house and the doorbell rang. It turned out to be a couple of LDS missionaries, so my buddy decided it would be a good idea to invite them in and have a chat. So we (me, my buddy, his roommate and the missionaries) all sat in the kitchen to do this. We offered them a beer, which they turned down. Then we offered to smoke some pot with them and again, they politely declined.

Anyway, we finally got to talking, and it was a pretty funny/strange/enlightening conversation, and they seemed to be going along with it till my friend asked them if God had a penis or a vagina. They got up, thanked us for our time, and hightailed it out of there.

I was bummed because I didn't get to ask them what the story was with the weird underwear that LDS missionaries are rumored to wear. Someday, though. Someday.

I have an insanely creepy and appropriate Halloween level story about Moonies, but that is for a different thread.  ;D

Speaking of bibles. I requested one to be sent to me using the name Torres Kockoff. It was sent to my PO box. When I took the yellow card to the counter, the lady saw the name on the package and gave me a strange look. It wasn't a Mormon bible though.

When you do this prank use a nickname your enemy isn't fond of as their first name.

Mormon: Is Snickerboo here?

Enemy: Fuckin' asshole.

I ordered a tape of theirs years ago to record over and score a free cassette and they still call me every few months or so. They're great to sic on people because they'll never stop, not even after a person dies. Seriously, they baptised Hitler and Vlad the Impaler. They're the original database freaks, their computers have some of the most detailed genealogical records ever, possibly to track alien hybrid genes across generations as part of a breeding project Joseph Smith started when he fucked the alien Moroni.

Are you talking to God? If so, he hasn't logged in for ages. But miss him, I do.

I sent some Mormons out to my boyfriend's house saying he was an atheist and wanted information on how to reform to Mormonism.

He knew it was me right away.
