Give me information on Reverse Plate Lookup. I know there is probably no free site to do it, but I remember Cal mentioning a cheap site to do it. Or if one of you have a membership at such a site, do a reverse lookup for me.

I don't think license plate searches are the kind of thing that's included with a membership on an investigative site, so it's probably something you're going to have to pay a few bucks for.  Call your DMV and ask how you can get that info.  Maybe there's an easy way to do it by just writing to a certain state department yourself which would probably be cheaper than using a website that does the same thing.

Back in 1996 or 1997, some guy purchased a CD full of the Oregon license plate database (you can do that??) and put it online for everyone to use for free.  People freaked out about this and it was in the news a lot.  It was really neat, being able to look up anyone's real info from a license plate.  I think Texas was on the net for free for a short time too.

call in a drunk driver and give the license plate, listen to the scanner. that is free and a really bad thing to do but it might work. if there was a gang trying to kill my family i would do this.

Get a vanity license plate made that has the license number of the person whose info you want.  Then drive around town doing drive-by shootings and hit-and-runs.  The next morning read in the paper to see who they arrested.

Go to the police academy, do all the training, get hired as an officer.  Then on your first day, run the plates that you want to know about.  After that, just quit.  Ta da, info is yours!
