I just finished making a video that shows exactly how to apply the 6.5536 MHz crystal mod.  I don't know if I should post it now or wait until the first of next month.

that crystal is used for making another fun device I don't think I've ever heard it being used for transforming a scanner into a transceiver.

after rewatching the vid I got what I needed to know... I never really looked to hard at the transceiver, usually lawling too much.  thanks

It's a lot easier to remove stuff like that with this nifty thing I got at radio shack. It's a soldering iron, but with a hollow tip hooked up to a rubber ball. You heat the solder til it melts, then release the ball and it sucks the solder out.

When I mod the CB in my car I think I'll run wires from the crystal terminals on the board so I can switch back and forth between the two crystals to harass drive throughs AND truckers at will!

What is it with people bitching about the pronunciation of the word 'solder' on hardware modding videos? Nobody freaks out at any of the other thousands of words that limeys, yanks, canucks, kiwis, or aussies pronounce differently, why do people think 'solder' is special?
