Just a Uniden scanner from Radio Shack.

I wasn't aware that any run of the mill uniden scanner was two way.  is there a specific model number?

You need to modify the scanner with a 6.5536 MHz crystal to enable it to transmit.  Pretty much any Uniden since the mid 90's are easily modifiable.  I should make a tutorial for this.  In fact, I just might do that tonight.  It sure would help with all the people asking this question.

I once modified my clock radio. In addition to the Crystal, I had to had a thermistor to the IF section because of Induced voltage caused by the heat let off by the dc inverter.

I wish I had that Uniden mod after the fact though!
