Expiring Auto Warranty Calls
« on: April 03, 2009, 07:44:02 AM »
I'm not asking anyone to do it for me, I just need some guidance.
I have been getting calls on my cell from some fuckers running an auto warranty scam.
They're calling me from 603.214.3656 and I know that's a NH number provided by Freedom Ring LLC out of Portsmouth. The company leasing that number seems to lease the DID range of 3501-3669.
Can you guys give a newbie any direction on what I could do to find their main number?
They also call from a 202 DC area code.
When you call these number back they give a message that says "to get on our do not call list press 1" then hangs up. I have tried pressing other keys and it immediately disconnects.
Anyhow, if anyone has a moment to offer some guidance I'd really appreciate it. If it's a waste of your time I totally understand.

Maybe a complete exchange scan of 603-214-xxxx.  Or at least all the numbers from 603-214-35xx though 603-214-36xx.

Have you tried pressing "1" to be removed?  That might be the least amount of wasted time for you.  Though that doesn't seem to work for me with this home security system company that's been calling me for the past year.

Thanks for the reply.
As you mentioned I press 1 to be removed though this doesn't seem to work.
I'll do some searching in the forums on how to do an exchange scan using my window$ machine.
Thanks again

It never goes to a real person for me. Ever. My calls always involve the "please stay on the line while one of our representatives contacts you" message. Thankfully they tend to call any time after 8 while I'm in school. Never while I'm home, only in school.

A Google search on that number finds all this information on them:

http://whocalled.us/lookup/6032143656

There are contact numbers on there and lots of stories from other people who are called by them.

I've received several such calls recently from the number (516) 858-7142. I called back, presses 2 to get off the list as it instructed me, but wasn't satisfied. So I called back and started pressing DTMFs. I found that if you press star twice it asks for a password. Maybe I'll spend some time this weekend trying to figure out what the password it. Any help would be appreciated.

I got a bunch of these calls in my voicemail lately, and then I finally got one I was able to pick up. I waited for a person and said "your message said my warranty will expire, please sign me up for my warranty extension, I'm ready to go ahead with this". The lady confirmed my phone number and then said "sorry for the inconvenience sir, please disregard this call" and hung up; I haven't gotten a call since. I guess she was really skilled at identifying time-wasting assholes just by tone of voice.

See how the last post in this thread was *last year*? Also see how your post contributed nothing to the conversation?
