MySpace Doesn't Care About Your Privacy
« on: August 14, 2009, 10:11:25 AM »
Back in 2006, I found a whole slew of ways to circumvent the private profile feature and they spread like wildfire. It took MySpace 6 months to fix them.

Now with the advent of Mail 3.0, there is yet another way to invade someone's privacy on Myspace and all you have to do is get them to send you a message. Yes, you read that right. All you need to do is get them to send you a message. This can be achieved fairly easily by any layperson (as opposed to the skilled social engineer) by trolling or simply asking them a question.

This is why I don't bother setting my profile to private.

See image for example:

Not just the one, but all of them. I mentioned it in the status message in all my accounts. :nonsense: :nonsense: :nonsense:
