ooma - questions...
« on: November 16, 2009, 08:57:31 PM »
ooma uses a P2P network to access a landline that is connected to another ooma device close to the location at where your call is going to be terminated, from what I understand about the service...

has anyone had any experience with this?

I assume that if it works the way that i believe that it does, from reading various information about this service then this is a MAJOR security risk.... i would assume then that you could connect a telephone line recorder device between the ooma and your landline, and record or monitor all of the conversations that are terminated thru your landline (i guess you could set up a VoIP line with an ATA in place of the landline to monitor calls with this method)

anyone have any hands on with the ooma devices - this seems like the only reason for me to want to purchace one of these things...

We sell them at Radio Shack. Other than the fact the same unit has been sitting on the shelf for like 7 months priced at $220.
