how long does it take for goog411 listing to work

i set up my number for google maps, so that it can be active with goog 411... i find the number on the maps website, but am unable to get it to work with goog 411... i have changed the listing 3 times, this time i think i have something good... when i set the listing to "new york phone jacks" it kept reading back to me "new york phone sex" and while i saw the humor in that, it was not what i said.. so now i have it listed as just a group of letters separated by spaces... should at least be easier to locate by pressing the corresponding digits... but how long should i wait to know if it is listed on goog 411?

i am asking here, since i know that there used to be a goog 411 listing set up to get onto the bridge... so perhaps RBCP or someone else might be able to assist me with this one..

They will call the number which you provided in the listing and give you a code to enter on the website. After that they say the listing should be up within the next day.

yea i got that confirmation call almost right away...
right now i still can not get it... i am tring to make this easy to get to work... i think i should change the category to something alittle bit obscure...

OK so now it is working... i can call GOOG-411 and access my google voice number to call out... too bad i did not read about GOOG-411 not working at payphones (my main reason for setting this up was for when my cell battery died or i left my cell home to make free calls from payphones)

1- is there a way to call GOOG-411 from a payphone?

2- is there a time limit on how long a call connected thru GOOG-411 lasts? i know calls thru 800-FREE-411 are only good for 5 minutes...

1. op diversion or dialing through something such as 800-980-PHAD
2. a half hour, try 800-980-PHAD for the same basic free call concept from free 411, except for 10 min

yea i know about 800-980-phad as well as ringcentral.net (uses a local access number not a toll free number)

for some reason ringcentral told me my account is suspended - and i only used it one time, for a test call to my own number... they never responded back to me why it was suspended, or how to un-suspend it... oh well...

i guess i would have to try the op divert thing... the whole purpose of this experiment that i wanted to do was to get free calls with out a time limit from a payphone with out clipping onto the dial tone with my butt set... (except perhaps if the payphone times out after a certain amount of time for collect calls as some that i have run across do)

Just tried 800-980-PHAD on a verizon payphone today and it went to a recording about not accepting payphone calls. Odd, I thought they were supposed to work at payphones.

800-GOOG-411 is indeed blocked from payphones, goes to a re-order.

And 800-FREE-411 is blocked by verizon payphones only, should work at other payphones but verizon is blocking it.

i do not see anything on their website that says if it is or is not supposed to work from a payphone... perhaps the ANI-II digit is different from a RBOC payphone then from a COCOT that is preventing it from working with a verizon payphone but allowing it to work with other companies payphones??

anyone know of an ANAC that gives out the 2 digit code that tells the type of service that is provisioned for the line that you are calling from?

Well I think 800-980-PHAD was down at the time, I just tried from the same payphone again today and it goes through. Free 411 and Goog 411 are blocked though. But PHAD gives you 10 min, so its pretty damn good.

Of course you can get free ping phone cards, if you google pingo call latin america. (its really just a free $2.50 phone card they email you)

And you may be able to get listed on Tellme or 800THEINFO, I've never tried.

well... since it does not work for what i was originalay going to use it for, i can still use it to get completely free in/out going phone service thru google voice/gizmo5 with out needing to use click to call...

calls to toll free numbers are free with gizmo5.. so from gizmo5 i can call 800-goog-411 and reach my GV number, then call out wherever i want for free... and GV forwards to gizmo.. so now all i need to do is unlock one of the ATAs that is just sitting in my closet...
