I was browsing through Cal's on the Web Archive, and I found a funny story that has lived in my mind since I read it.

That was cal.phonelosers.org. It was a site hosted on phonelosers, but was run by Cal, who used to contribute before letting the site get defunct and pretty much backing away. If you ever hear someone talking about "the old forums", however, they're usually referring to that.

I set up a small tribute to Cal's awhile back at http://cal.phonelosers.org.  Cal saw it and whined at me that it was not cool to do that without his permission.

If Calimar didn't like it, he should have kept a mirror of the forums up for us so we could relive our glory days, or, in my case, whiny bitch troll idiot days.

God I can't believe I wasn't flamed right off the forums back then. I never contributed anything except bad music and asinine questions. I'm glad I've changed.

I contributed a lot back then, and contribute nothing now. I wrote a bunch of articles for cal's too, I wonder if anyone has those still...

What exactly is/was Cal's deal? One day he posted about his wife having health issues, then he was lamenting the fact that he was trying to use the forums to make money on Google and didn't like having his name associated with PLA content, then the censorship started and then the forums were just gone one day...
