Down here in the DC area I've got a good 40" total, but a lot has melted. Only about two feet left on thr ground now.

Great sledding, I was able to hit 20-25mph and then a parked car on a 1/4 mile long hill near my house!

A lot has melted, but some of the piles of snow left by snow plows are still huge. I have seen some that were in 7 or 8 feet tall, particularly in large parking lots. Just after the first round, I ended up waling through waist-high snow on my way to the store.

Problem is, my neighborhood is very densely populated, and we have nowhere to put all this fucking snow. So when you dig your car out, your pavement is fucked. Then you have to shovel that so you don't get a fine from the city for not clearing it. Then you have to dig your car out again, etc. Vicious cycle.

We only got like 5" in WI where I am, but I guess people who live on the lakefront (err, Lake Michigan) got it worse, but then they always do. Anyone in the Chicago, Gary, IN, or nearby able to confirm on that?

The northeast, yes. Philadelphia, no. Our previous record was 65 inches or so about 100 years ago. We might get over 80 before this winter is over.
