Article: Foursquare Stalkers Go IRL

Will these self-identified stalkers ruin your cyber community? Or will we ban these bullies from our playground?
A site called PhoneLosers.com has been stalking dozens of people using Foursquare, Twitter search, and Facebook. Supposedly, their main goal is to prank people and get them to post about them or the event.
This is part of the PhoneLosers.com forum post by someone named RBCP (appears to also be @rbcp on Twitter), urging people to stalk Foursquare users:

I'm shocked at linear's claim in the comments.  I want people to know that I was not responsible for what happened to him.  It was clearly a copycat.  Someone riding on the coattails of my prank calls.

i got the same type of call after checking in on FourSquare. Only the people calling me went WAY too far with it. When I got home and rushed to the computer room to disable my all of my twitter, email, foursquare, facebook, bank, and supermarket rewards accounts, i found my wife and two kids MURDERED and piled up next to my office chair. I am still VERY angry about that.

Some Creepoid Stalked Me Via Foursquare is the followup blog entry to the one Jesse posted previously.

It's a boring read, but I'm intrigued that he's "acting now by working to close their juvenile operation."  Another guy vowing to shut us down forever.

The thing about Jesse's story is that I don't believe it even happened.  Maybe one of you will prove me wrong by claiming responsibility, but the whole thing just sounds made up.  Like how he claims that he USUALLY only posts his Foursquare location AFTER he leaves.  But JUST THIS ONE TIME he didn't do that and he got pranked.  And he's so smart that he immediately knew he was being recorded.  And the people that visit these forums are usually better at pranks than simply calling someone a homo.

I think Jesse just wants to be included in this new Foursquare conspiracy, so he's fabricating a story because he knows it will interest people and get people to visit his blog.  His whole website is all about how to market your blog and build your fan base.  He even sells a video series on how to blog for $45.  That's my guess - this is nothing more than an attempt to get hits to his blog.  It'll probably work too.  His previous entry about us has 16 comments on it.  The other stuff he posts in his blog seems to have an average of zero comments.  Clever marketing, Jesse!

Normally I dislike when PLA gets popular like this 'cause it tends to drag in people who could be considered undesirable even by the PLA's standards. This could prove to be most amusing however. Maybe RBCP can get on TV again.
