Boot From CD

Alright, I have an old Proteva computer and I want to install Ubuntu Linux on it. I have a live CD that I made, and I'm trying to use it to install Ubuntu, but I can't seem to boot from the disk drive. When the computer is turning on, the only option it gives me is "Press <F1> to enter Flash Utility". If I do that, I get:
AMI BIOS Flash Utility v1.03
----
Flash ROM Type ... HYUNDAI HY29F002T
----
Load BIOS from Floppy
----
Enter: Run   ESC: Reset   F10: Power Off

I don't get any options to enter a boot menu and I don't know how to get into the BIOS. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

try holding F8 while booting, then do something else. something about boot order, I think.

I've tried that. With my dell laptop, I get a boot menu that let's me choose from the hard drive, disk drive USB drive etc. Not with my old computer. For that, I get:

Windows Advanced Options Menu
Please select an option:
   Safe Mode
   Safe Mode with Networking
   Safe Mode with Command Prompt

   Enable Boot Logging
   Enable VGA Mode
   Last Known Good Configuration (your most recent settings that worked)
   Directory Services Restore Mode (Windows domain controllers only)
   Debugging Mode
   Disable automatic restart on system failure

   Start Windows Normally
   Reboot
   Return to OS Choices Menu

Use the up and down arrow keys to move the highlight to your choice

I actually tried this last night. I downloaded the .zip file but I'm not sure what to do with the files inside. Other that some software to scan my computer for missing drivers, the file contains a README.TXT, a CA64F.BIN, and an AWDFLASH.EXE file. Any idea what I'm supposed to do with these?

Well the bin file is likely the bios upgrade/flash/whatever.  Can you put them on a floppy or something and boot?

I don't have a floppy disk, but I tried burning the files to a CD and using that. It still hasn't worked though. Is there a way I can use the files without rebooting my computer and trying to get them to load from the disk?

Isn't the whole point of this to boot from a different cd?

That exe file might perform a flash from within windows.  I'm not sure though.  What happens if you run it?

The cd/floppy you made would have to be bootable also.
