Tigers Win!
« on: October 07, 2006, 03:24:36 PM »
I am amazed, A few years ago I would have thought that my hometown team would have been closer to being disbanded from MLB as opposed to even playing the Yankees in a playoff game, and here they are D.Q.'ing them. I remember going to Tiger's games as a kid in the old tigers stadium, and always being a little bit depressed, seeing as the Tigers pretty much always lost. Here in Detroit we are slowly  getting closer to the dream of 4 Championship titles in the same year.. too bad the Lions are still mucking us up.

Anyways, I gotta stop watching sports on TV and go to a Wedding Reception now(Read: Drink).

/Im Hours Late!
//Go Wings, Lions, Tigers, Pistons!!
///Oh Wait, this isn't fark.

Yankees looked like they got socked in the stomach.  Kenny Rogers went a little crazy with the celebratory spraying of the champagne, altho it was funny when he dumped it on the cop.  WTG tigers!

Thank god detriot won... I'm a Boston fan, so I obviosly hate the Yankees.  So I'm really happy right now, but more that the Yankees lost than Detriot won.  And as to the Detriot Lions... they are horrible, i have no hope for them.  I feel bad for you Lion fans, my Patriots are doing just a little bit better eh?

Kidding aside, I only like baseball in real life, I just cant stand watching it on tv unless I'm at a bar or party.

agreed. Does anyone know if Milwaukee reached their goal of losing less than half their games this season?

 Talking about sports, can someone tell me the what the excitment is of watching a car go in circles a bunch of times (AKA, race car driving)?

I think most people are in it for the occasional wrecks and explosions.  But then they all get all whiney when their favorite driver dies.  To me it's about appealing as watching a tiny ball go back and forth on a TV screen for hours at a time.  No, not pong.  I watched a couple of baseball games when I was 10 so I know how they end now.  I don't get how people can keep watching the same game, day after day for decades.  I just don't get it.  I must be wrong, though, because millions of Americans are against my opinion.

If it makes you feel any better, I don't think you're wrong. I used to think the same way, but I got into baseball again this season. I played a bit this summer, too, which probably helps, and going to the game and watching it does beat the shit out of watching it on TV, as well. Pretty much anything is better when you're in the VIP section of an area and being waited on hand and foot.

As for race car driving, I think it's just used as an excuse for drinking. "500 laps. Well, I can't get through that without some more beer!"

And, judging by some of the crashes, that quote could easily be a spectator or a driver.
