D.C. Metro Removing Payphones

On my way home from work today, I noticed that all the payphones in at least two orange line stops have been removed.  :'(

On the bright side, the empty payphone stands make for nice seats while waiting for the train.

You'd think DC would keep them, as there are still people without cell phones there I bet...people ask to borrow my phone all the time, and they don't have phones...

We lost a few phones in town here too, a few were lost to supreme heinous vandalism, which probably consisted of smash-fucking the phone with a sledgehammer and then driving over the enclosure like it was a 90-year old woman..
