Does anyone here use Linux?

Just wondering if anyone here is running Linux and if so what Distro?

I'm running Ubuntu at the moment.

I started off with Slackware a few years ago, good stuff!

I loves me some KDE, but I still primarily use Gnome with Ubuntu.  My Open SUSE Virtual Machine is KDE though!    :P

I like the PHLAK boot Cd, not only for it's title, but it works well on a wide range of PC's and can be used as a temporary, secondary, or primary Os

I currently dont have a computer (other than my gaming rig which i want to remain a windows box) capable of running linux with a GUI... so no I dont use linux. I do use BeOS however, which I find to be pretty kick ass.

I went from Slackware to Mandrake to Red Hat.  Then to Fedora, back to Mandrake, and then to Ubuntu.  I think I'll probably always use Ubuntu now... Debian 4 leif.  I have been Windows free for six months, although I still need to run a copy in VMware for those hard to reach places.  :P

I read this post and decided to get Ubuntu. I'm on it now off a boot cd and I really like it its a lot slicker than mac and definably better than windows.

Ya, the live CD is really cool.  If you decide to load it up, I'll link you to some How-To's about loading up all of the proprietary video codecs and stuff, so that you 'could' replace Winders, if you wanted to.

The only problem Im having is partioning my hd. I have a 300 gig usb hd and then an 80 gig internal. I was wondering If it would run faster on the usb hd than on the cd, and also if I partion my internal how will I boot up windows if I need to?

You will have to find a bootloader. They can be tricky to install, and can be hard to fix if shit happens, but are the best way of switching between OS's

Do you have any recommendations for a good bootloader? And yeah, if you could help me with the codecs that would be great, especially since I cant watch my porn now.
