Recently, my parents have caught on to my preoccupation with phones, and they aren't too happy about it. They wouldn't have found out if I hadn't left so much phone stuff around, like lists of random numbers, and the phone phreaking diet plan flyer. But, then they started to question me on the whole thing and I told them that it was the exploration of the phone system, but they still didn't understand. On other things, like some of the information posted on the flyer, they were really suspicious. Also, I'm currently writing an article on the phone system of a cruise ship, and in it I wrote a paragraph on getting free phone calls by simple op-diverting, and my mom read it, claiming that I left the document open. I couldn't, and didn't, explain that one.
My dad has now threatened to ground me for a week if he catches me doing anything phone-related.
And, well, I was wondering if maybe you guys could give me a little advice to help this situation. I consider phreaking to be a respectable hobby, but I can't seem to express that to my parents very well. Any advice would be very appreciated.
