That is one of the scariest things I have ever seen.  If they ever try to put a tracking device on me I will put up a fight!  I am with you Sam!

I wouldn't say fascist, more like a corporate oligarchy. Although the neo-cons are a breed apart from other recent administrations as far as incompetence, blatant opportunism and human rights abuses are concerned.

You want some scary political shit? Check this stuff out:

Watch the video. Do you believe it?

In case anyone here doubts that the US used to support Saddam: Here's the video of Donald Rumsfeld shaking hands with Saddam Hussein on a diplomatic trip to Iraq in 1983:

<a href="http://video.google.com/googleplayer.swf?docId=1633879252804105447" target="_blank">http://video.google.com/googleplayer.swf?docId=1633879252804105447</a>

And here's the story.

Anyway, It'd be nice if we could discuss politics here without it getting too divisive.

Oh BTW, in reply to that question as to what law gives the government the right to collect income taxes, it was the 16th Amendment to the Constitution. This Aaron Russo guy purports to be defending the US Constitution and he obviously doesn't even know the document he's defending.

All these alarmist political documentaries are getting out of hand, with their blatant ignorance/falsifying of the facts. Even Michael Moore never stooped that low. A single unresearched fact like that income tax thing blows this movie's credibility to shit. Even if some of the allegations being made by Mr. Russo are true, they'll all be dismissed because the moron can't be bothered to check his basic facts.

There's enough real illegal activity going on in our government to fill a hundred documentaries. But every idiot with a camera thinks he's going to play on the public's distrust of government to make the next Fahrenheit 911. So now we're getting loads of these dumbed-down, poorly researched, fear-mongering "crock-umentaries" that obviously play up the sensational topics and never really dig for the facts.

Fighting lies with more lies is not the answer. Americans are not that stupid. It took me like 2 seconds on the WWW to find the 16th Amendment. The more of these bullshit documentaries people see, the more they are going to just start dismissing everyone who criticizes the neoconservatives as a crackpot.

Who gives a shit? You guys gotta realize that you're all like 17, and you can't change the world. Just go back to looking at porn and reading 2600, listening to Against Me! and thinking you're hardcore.

Well SOMEBODY sounds jaded.

How old are you Murd0c, like 50?

You can change the world, or at least this country. We still elect our leaders. It is possible to organize people with similar perceptions and opinions on what is going on, to raise awareness to the level where a turning point can be reached.

The question is, are you prepared to do what it takes?  Do you have enough of a work ethic, and do you care enough?

murd0c's like 20, I think.  Incidentally, I'm 25 and I spend most of my time looking at porn, reading 2600, and listening to the occassional Against Me album.  ;)
May the forces of evil become confused on the way to your house.

Amen murd0c.  Amen!  Even  though you are only 19 or 20 I aggree with you.  I like number 11.

    Rule 1:     Life is not fair; Get used to it;

Rule 2:     The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something before you feel good about yourself.

Rule 3:     You will not make $40,000.00 a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice president with a car phone, until you earn both.

Rule 4:     If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss, he doesn't have tenure.

Rule 5:     Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your grandparents had a different word for burger flipping; they called it opportunity.

Rule 6:     If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.

Rule 7:     Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you are. So before you save the rainforest from the parasites of your parents' generation, try "delousing" the closet in your own room.

Rule 8:     Your school may have done away with winners and losers but life has not. In some schools they have abolished failing grades. They give you as many times as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to anything in real life.

Rule 9:     Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you find yourself. Do that on your own time.

Rule 10:     Television is not real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.

Rule 11:     Be nice to nerds. Chances are you will end up working for one.

I've been voting for a while now.  I just think most of you people are too inept to be talking about politics.  Maybe we should talk about the politics of, "OMG HOW AM I GOING TO GET A RIDEZOR TO DEFCON!?!?!?111"
