The cable and phone company I'm with current projects my called I.D. to the T.V. screen. We get a blue bar in the upper left corner giving the information. It's kinda neat really.

That is neat.  It would be even neater if they did that 10 years ago when everyone had land lines.  I saw a caller ID box that did that about 5 years ago and it was $200.

Bell Expressvu satellite receivers have been able to do that for a long time. You had to hook up a phone line to purchase PPV stuff  but it would also tell you who was calling.

Why yes it is. I rather enjoy the caller I.D. function they have.

Cablevision and Comcast also offer this, but only with their own VoIP service.

Same for road runner I believe. You only get the service if you're using their VoIP service. I'm furthering the clogging of said tubes with my voice on the daily now.

Time warner has just brought Caller ID on TV to the WNY area. Quite nice not having to get up to go to the kitchen whenever someone calls
