That link has precisely dick to do with DefCon.  It leads to a goddamn closed-minded, homophobic, neo-nazi, christian website

This is where we learn all about the forum members' reading comprehension.

They are ANTI-right-wing-religeous-nutjobs and their mission statement reads as follows:

Quote
DefCon is fighting to prevent the religious right from...

...achieving absolute power over all branches of government and breaking all the rules to get it.  Read more about the Federal Courts.

...preventing scientific advancements in the fight against Parkinson's, diabetes and cancer.  Read more about Stem Cell Research.

...making medical decisions for women and reducing gay and lesbian Americans to second-class citizens.  Read more about the Right to Privacy.

...replacing scientific knowledge with religious ideology in the classroom.  Read more about Defending Science.

... using the government to proselytize or to infringe on the religious freedom of all Americans.  Read more about the Separation of Church and State.

...making your end-of-life decisions for you, just as they sought to make Terry Schiavo's.  Read more about End of Life Decisions.

Good jorb, there, kelso-guy.

The extreme left is just as bad as the extreme right.  Stop quoting Marx and state an original thought.

I'm curious to know the views of the extreme left that you find abhorrent.

Well, just to clarify... he was quoting Marx, so when I say extreme left, I mean FAR extreme left.. ie, communism.  (For those of you keeping score at home, I guess that would make the far extreme right some sort of dictatorship.)

What don't I like about communism?  You can work at the same job as me, do piss-poor work, and recieve the exact same pay, benefits, or whatever type of compensation.  Sounds like a crock of shit to me...

I'm all for universal healthcare, baby-killin's and gay marriage, but I'm a hardcore capitalist, too.

A better example, and one that is easily refuted, is that the homeless person is unwilling/too stupid/too intoxicated to work and therefore we shouldn't provide housing or food because that would encouage others to become homeless.  Because these myths can easily be refuted it puts the homeless person in the same league as the average joe:  They are subservient to an economic reality, sometimes the one and the same.

I use this example because it's often used to slam socialism and communism.

Give me a good reason why someone who thinks that Capitalism is a good economic system cannot also support social programs like universal healthcare.

I'm not sure WTF you're going on about here.  My observations had nothing to do with homeless people.  I pointed out what I feel is a flaw in the communist system using the example of two employed people who are doing the same job.  You decided, rather than actually refute my argument, to tell me that you had a better example of my argument, then you laid out an arguement which was neither better nor mine own, and then refuted that, instead.
