This morning I got a really weird phone call. The number was blocked, so I thought it was my friend Christina (read: a 12 year old girl who likes to prank call me). But it wasn't. When I answered, the conversation went something like this...


Me: Hello?

Fag: Hi, is this John?

Me: No, I think you've got a wrong number.

Fag: No...wait...don't hang up. The name's all scribbly so it's hard to read. Is this [my phone number]?

Me: Yeah.

Fag: Ok, I can't really read your name, but you've been selected as a winner of [can't remember]. Do you have a MasterCard, Discover, Visa, or American Express?

Me: Um... Bye.


I didn't get any sleep last night and I was really tired, otherwise I would have played along. Also, I could hear people (or maybe a TV) talking in the background. It was very odd.

But what I can't figure out is how somebody could have my phone number, but not know my name. Magus Sebastian. Magus SEBASTIAN. It's not that hard to figure out. So that leads me to believe that it wasn't any of you PLA guys. But who was it? I don't know anybody who could have my phone number, but also not know my name. More on this story as it unfolds. Maybe.

I wish I would get a random prank call.  I haven't gotten a non-PLA prank call since 1995.  Maybe if I make the last 4 digits of my number spell SHIT I would have better luck.
