rotary phones were great.  i think the only time i ever used one was at my nanas house.   however, the table top ones double as a great weapon.

I own 4 rotary phones.  I used to have a couple of them working, one in my living room and one in the basement.  Before I moved and left all my stuff behind in storage.

Why would that be a joke? I think that's an awesome idea. If she wants a rotary phone, someone should get her one. We can make commercials about it and everything.

The only problem I can think of is that whenever I mention the PLA, most people think of the Palestinian group instead. Which, I suppose, could make the commercials even better.

Or we can do a community outreach like that and Arbie could make it a section of PLA Radio or bring it back for an episode of PLA TV and name it something corny like "PLA remembers" where we bring old people relics of their past like touchtone phones and wooden console-style TVs.

Sending that old lady a rotary phone in the name of the PLA is a great idea!  If my old rotary phones weren't in storage, I would definitely send her one.

I'm on Ebay now, trying to bid on some old Western Electric rotary phones.  Not having much luck, though.  I keep getting outbid.  I've tried up to $17.00.  There's a few junk shops in town that I've seen rotary phones in.  Maybe I'll check those out soon and see if they're reasonably priced.  I doubt they will be, though.

I have two of them working perfectly but the shipment will cost a lot of money from where I am now.
BTW I once got one phone booth at my old place my mum bought that from an antiquity shop in London.

wow, i didn't think you would actually take my idea seriously... If she does end up getting a phone she will be like who sent this to me... RBCP u should send her the phone with a PLA sticker on it and the number for the PBX with your show on it! She would call it and then you could put out a special show that says "here's your new phone, enjoy!"
