I was taking the C Train in NYC and I found this Pay Phone. Thought it was interesting so I took some pictures:

Thats what you get for taking the C train. The payphones at the Rockville Centre LIRR stop have these as well.

I've seen those stickers in St. Louis too.  They've been around for a long time.  If you do a Google search on the phrase, there's lots to read about them.

The this phone is tapped thing reminded m of a picture I found on Google. It was of a road sign that said, "THIS SIGN HAS SHARP EDGES.

I've also seen things on payphone saying that cell calls are monitored, and to use a payphone for privacy. Well which one is it?!

The NSA has a direct link into most telco switches.  It's not hard to fathom the NSA using call patterns, international calls, etc to select those for which they will impose wiretaps.

I don't mind giving up my freedoms to protect this country.
We can't be pacificts during wartime. I mean look at our current situation with that camel fucker over in Iraq. Pacifism is not something to hide behind.

im not even going to say anything...except, why in hell are you willing to give your rights away...I don't care if we are at "war" or not, is this a free country or not, WTF, if it is then I should not have to waive my rights to anyone...the problem is the government tries to protect it's citizens way to much...to the point to where they make it seem that we need to give up certain things...has everyone forgotten the American dream? it's not nice things, a big house, a lexus in the drive...it's the one simple line..."don't tread on me" that should go for the government itself and other country's as well...

Of course! it all a big conspiracy! theyre listening to us, secretly recording what we say for use against us!

Actually now that i think about it, it wouldnt be a half bad idea; setting up a few permenant taps on public phones to listen to conversations. you could come across some funny stuff for your next podcast

would that even be possible...how hard would it be to set up a tap to a public phone...and how would you conceal the recording device...out of curiosity of course
