well, Microsoft did make Flight simulator X, and that game rules. (Microsoft however didn't have the driver to support my MICROSOFT brand joystick. Went to the website and the driver is not available for windows xp home:(  )

You realize why Helen Keller was famous, right? She was blind and deaf and could still do shit? Like write stuff? And be politically active?

Why did Hellen Keller's dog run away?

You'd be angry too, if your name was "Ullohoioppuha".

:) i just went nuts at work today My own mediocre attempt at humor has been highly amusing to myself., they keep telling me they are getting MAC's in but are procrastinating!! i wouldnt have to use PuTTY to IRC/ssh!!!  it was like windows decided to just crumble as i was working hard and harder to get my work done.  i went bananas. so i thought that this would be a place to flame it out.  Oh, the lamer than Helen Kellers ability to articulate was kinda boroowed, i heard that dog say, someone was "lamer than FDR's legs" on family guy, and laughed.  No she couldnt articulate, but there was a brilliant autistic woman who is now a Biologist, and became the very first autistic person to articulate what it was like to have this condition.  (my friend runs Autismlink that's how i know this, it was a touching story though.)

FLAME microsoft stop sticking up for it!!! Unix rulez!! control your machine, dont let microshaft do it for you!!

You are one bitter ball of rage.

I, too, would abandon Windows, but Ubuntu (the only Linux distro I've really liked) doesn't have driver support for either of my wifi cards, and I don't want to have to repurchase all my music notation software just to then have to emulate it. Damn the man.

If by "articulate" you mean "articulate," then yes.

I like Microsoft and I think Windows XP is a solid operating system.  In the 5 - 6 years I've been using it, it's rarely crashed on me.  And when it has, it's usually because I'm doing something insane, like trying to render a giant movie file while having 10 other applications open.  I don't want to control my machine.  I just want to do things like look at the internet, make documents, alter photos and videos, etc.  If I spend half my time making sure I've got the latest and greatest linux stuff, and trying to track down working drivers for everything I own, I'm not going to get much done.

I really enjoy going to 2600, or wherever geeks are, and laughing as they talk about their Linux computers, but then they're just sitting there, either "installing a driver" or "rebooting". I don't think Linux does anything other then those two things. And I cannot stand Windows at all. Who wants a computer where you have to worry about it working constantly?

  I love my iBook.

i like configuring everything myself, but hey, i am a loser like that.  Drivers for wifi cards were *never* a problem though, that's just lame.  if you can't find the driver you need you can always revert to just NDISwrapper.  all of my cards were Prism2 chipsets from DLink and Netgear.  Packet injecting via wifi is so much fun, and fake ARP requests get the job done! :)

also theres tons of great free software on sorceforge that can pretty much compete rather well with microsofts $364872156 softwares with 439256043016785 digit registration codes, then 4239058603492650-4 digit activation codes, and 40925604397823560 digit serial numbers.

I don't have those kind of worries with Windows.  It works all the time.  I've used XP for half a decade now and have had no major problems.  The only time I've had to do a complete reinstall was when a hard drive crashed.

Linux people are like Car people.  The ones that are REALLY into fixing engines and modding everything and making it the best car ever.  I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that, but I'd rather drive a car than work on it.

The problem with Windows is their crappy hardware support. Linux now supports a shitload more hardware than Windows.
